When I was a kid I dreamt of being an archaeologist. I wanted to be just like Indiana Jones & uncover the secrets of the past… I saw all the movies, read the National Geographic magazines and watched the tv shows… I was all in!

Then I grew up & began to pursue different dreams… I wanted to do so many different things & had so many different dreams as I’m sure you’ve all had as well. Now there’s nothing wrong with pursuing your dreams, but as believers, is that all you’re pursuing?

In 1 Timothy 6.11 Paul advises Timothy “But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.” Paul is telling Timothy to flee false teachings, but he’s also telling him what to pursue. As you listen to this & reflect, ask yourself…Are you pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness & gentleness as you pursue your dreams and interests? 

Run hard & fast in the faith, run towards godliness. He’ll take care of your dreams & interests…
