For the first time in history, the entire world is paying attention to our presidential election, the black lives matter movement & other things here in the states. As I sit here, drinking my coffee & thinking on these things, I wonder about the church… It seems that rather than being a city on a hill, the church has gotten caught up in all of these things instead of being “not of this world” as written in John 17.14.

Proverbs 21.1 says ““The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.” This verse tells us that no matter what happens, in the end it’s the Lord’s will… & He is always in control.

As Christians we need to rise above the goings on of this world & pray for these situations, rather than allow our emotions control our faith. Our faith must always be first, believing that God is in control over all things & our battles are fought through prayer. We were called to be salt & light, not a sledgehammer…
